Attendance Policy

http://www.freewebs.com/louisvillemaleptsa/08-09 Attendance & Tardies.pdf

EVENT
-- Any absence that exceeds 60 minutes. An event is calculated for the accumulation of minutes a student misses school.

TARDY -- This applies to any absence less than 60 minutes. This time is added together with all time missed during the school days. An early dismissal is calculated as a tardy provided it is less than 60 minutes absent.

ABSENCES by PERCENTAGES -- This term shows the total of absences by percentage. If a student is absent 60 minutes, he/she is 83% present; 17% absent. The school will receive only 83% funding for this student on this day. These minutes absent accumulate. If a student is absent 62%, 48%, and 55%, this calculates to an absence of 1.65% of school attendance time. This is logged as three "events" of absence.
