has committed to play field hockey for Bellarmine University.  Congrats to Megan!

Megan Conley

Congratulations to Caroline Troutman and Angelo Jones for being named HOBY Ambassadors for the 2009-10 school year.  They will attend the Kentucky HOBY State Leadership Seminar at Transylvania University in June 2010.  First alternate is Megan Leonard, second alternate is Rudy McIntosh, and third alternate is Micahia Braden.  We were extremely pleased with the quality and number of applications received.  Kudos to everyone who applied.

Congratulations to Kieran "Pookie" Story for being named the WHAS student-athlete for the month of November. 

Congratulations to Mr. Jose Alfaro for receiving an Excel Award from WHAS and Eon US for 2009.  Pictures may be found on the Photo Gallery page.

The Field Hockey All-Star game was played on Sunday, November 1.
These 3 were chosen for the State All-Star game: Megan Martiny, Jill Marlow, Carrie Walker.  First team  All-State: Carrie Walker, Second Team All-State: Jamie Smither.  Nominated for Kentucky Defensive Player of the Year: Jamie Smither; nominated for Kentucky Miss Field Hockey: Jill Marlow.  Congratulations to these lovely ladies!

Thank you to the many students and staff members who participated in the baby items collection drive for TAPP.  Over 600 items were collected for their Santa Shop.  A special thanks goes to Mrs. Powell for organizing the drive.


The following Bulldogs have been selected to represent Louisville Male Traditional High School in the State All-Star soccer games Saturday, November 14 --
Second Team All-State – Taylor Hafling, All-State Honorable Mention – Emery Hamada, Lewis Romero and Dylan Terry

Swimming -- Devan Terry has committed to swim at University of Alabama.

Jenna Day won a preliminary in the Miss America organization. She is Miss Jeffersontown 2010 and she will compete for the title of Miss Kentucky in July. She was awarded $1000 scholarship and a diamond bracelet from the Shane Company!

Thanks to Claire Arnold for organizing a very fun event at the University of Louisville campus for the HOBY Alumni 2009.


Kudos to the Class of 2011 for winning the Spirit Stick.  A junior class has not won the coveted prize since the Class of 2007.


Thanks to the Powder Puff participants for giving us a lot of laughs.  The game, cheerleaders and bonfire were so much fun to watch.

Congratulations to the classes who won the PTSA Membership Drive.  These first-period classes were awarded a free breakfast from McDonald's, which was delivered by PTSA Board Members:
Mr. Bruce Dillman with 90% membership
Ms. DeVenuto with 75% membership
Ms. Cole and Mr. Eric Powell with 69% membership

Bravo to the numerous students who participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  Thank you for taking the initiative to form a team and walk the walk. 

Congratulations to Homecoming Court Senior Winners:  Jill Marlow (Queen), Chisom Omenyinma (King), Jenna Day (Princess) and Taylor Hafling (Prince).  Kudos to all of the students who represented their class, team or club.  Also, congratulations to Lynne Seewer and Damien Sweeney who were named Faculty Queen and King during the pep rally.

HOBY Committee student members
have been named.  Student representatives are:  Jade Montanez, K.D. Beumer, Kaitlin Palmer, Gabi Parrish, and Taylor Leet.  Apollo Jones will serve as a liaison between Student Senate and HOBY.  Congratulations to all!


Taylor Hafling
qualified for Disney's Soccer Showcase All-Star Team in January.  He spent time in England showing off his skills. 


Congratulations to Carrie Walker for making Sacred Heart's All-Apple Tournament Team!


A new portrait hangs in the Hall of Principals thanks to the determination of Trae Farrow.  Male's first African-American principal, Mr. James Smith, was Trae's grandfather.  Congratulations to Men of Quality for getting the job done!


Congratulations Louisville Male Traditional High PTSA on having been awarded several honors at the Kentucky PTA Leadership Conference held in Louisville this summer.
